3D Modeling – Fusion 360 (Journal Entry 8)

I believe that Fusion 360 was easier to use than FreeCAD. While tinker cad was the easiest to use, I only had problems with Fusion 360 towards the end of this assignment. I liked being able to change the different materials the objects could be in the rendering portion of Fusion 360. I also liked that the warnings/error messages in Fusion 360 were much easier to understand then the FreeCAD warnings/error messages.

The tutorial shape was incredibly easy to make and I had no issues creating it.
I ended up making two lamps because while the red one looked more like a lampshade to me, I did not want to get points off for it not being curved enough so I also made the green lamp. I made the line in paint more have more curves so that the green lamp would have them once it was created.
The flask was the easiest shape for me to make since I just trimmed the sketch I made in Fusion 360 to only have half of the sketch and then rotated it. The thing that took me the longest was trying to figure out how to make the liquid in the flask red since at first I used glass which made the liquid look very dark. I eventually looked at the video I took during class and saw that you used the red paint so I also did that.
The bowler hat was definitely the hardest to make. The video I took for the bowler hat was not helpful because I did not realize my phone died halfway through recording . I could not figure out how to make the top of it completely round and then the bottom of the hat would not be hollow. I got a lot of error messages when I was making the hat hollow so I ended up just undoing a lot of what I did to make it hollow and started over. I ended up having to use the shell tool multiple different times to make the inside of the hat look hollow. I then tried to fillet the inside of the hat because there were a lot of lines inside of it but it did not work very well.
